There's still a lot to do
Artificial Intelligence: what to expect and how to use it in our new environment of uncertainty?
The uncertainties generated by the COVID-19 pandemic and what to expect from AI in the post-pandemic economy
In times of crisis, such as the one we are living in (COVID-19), the 2 great wars and the race for space, caused humanity to accelerate, develop and solve problems in record times. For this reason, the concern of several companies to quickly overcome the crisis and reestablish themselves in the consumer's mind, always paying attention to market news.
In fact, a lot has changed: delivery, human interactions, remote work, etc.
To get an idea of the magnitude of these changes, according to Visual Capitalist, during the epidemic, the video calling company, Zoom, reached a market value higher than the 7 largest aviation companies in the world (Southwest, Delta, United , IAG, Lufthansa, American Airlines, AirFrance & KLM) $ 48bn vs $ 46bn, respectively.
In Kai-Fu Lee's last book, Artificial Intelligence - which I strongly recommend reading - the author discusses the great revolutions in human history and how AI is changing the way we work.
Until the book's publication date in November 2019, Lee barely knew what was coming: the COVID-19 pandemic.
In June 2020, according to market expectations 1 in 5 Americans is unemployed and according to the University of Chicago, in its paper - COVID-19 Is also a reallocation shock - 40% of North American layoffs will be permanent.
So, what to expect from AI in this new economy? What will this new normal look like, as experts comment so much?
The answers to the implementation of AI in our daily lives and in the new economy, will be present at the III Artificial Intelligence Symposium promoted by I2AI in partnership with ECA-USP on June 17th and 18th. Don't miss out!
